Pilot Synopsis

” Jewish Guys “

Patrick breaks up with his long-term Jewish boyfriend and falls off the grid, only to be found at his house by his best friend Edward, swimming his troubles away. Sapphire, their close friend and a Marine on leave, joins them in the pool as she recovers from breast implants, and they all fantasize about an orgy with only famous Jewish guys.

All three of them were toddlers when they lost their parents on 9/11. Arnold, a senior agent at CAA who adopted and raised Patrick and his sister, Annie, stops by to scold Patrick for not answering his calls.

They all attend the Jewish ritual circumcision of Edward’s newborn baby nephew in Santa Monica. Edward is given the honor of holding the child, as his brother-in-law, Scott, standing next to him, faints dead away. Luckily, Sapphire catches him as he hits the ground.

Gordo, a registered nurse and Edward’s friend from high school, who lost both his parents on 9/11, patches up Edward’s brother-in-law. Gordo’s adopted parents, both from India, raised Gordo in India for the first ten years of his life, so even though he is tall with blond hair, he speaks with a heavy Indian accent.

Patrick, recently graduated from USC, has taken over management of Memory Lane, a classic car sales and repair shop in West Hollywood, from Arnold, who owns the business but decide to return to being an agent at CAA.

Patrick shows a beautiful 1960 Chrysler Imperial to a customer, Ira, who flirts with him and Patrick discovers that Ira lost his Dad on 9/11.

Sapphire and her niece Rose, visit Ruby, Sapphire’s sister, in the hospital as Ruby recovers from a serious accident where she was nearly killed by a drunk driver. Tom, Sapphire and Ruby’s adopted Dad, gives Ruby a new phone so she can live-stream the upcoming 9/11 memorial in NYC, which Ruby will miss.

Patrick and his fraternal twin sister, Annie, who is a professional magician, along with Edward, Sapphire, Gordo and Arnold, attend the 9/11 memorial service in New York City. Patrick scans the crowd, looking for Ira, who he was certain would attend. But Ira is back in Los Angeles and decides to take his own life.

Yet fate has different plans.
